I have been a Chaffey College for one year now and am currently a sophmore accounting major looking forward to transfering to UC Berkeley, USC, or UCSB for Fall 2011.  This last year has been fantastic, as I have engaged myself completely in my education here at Chaffey, developing lasting relationships with amazing faculty.  For the first time last year, I ran for an elected position at school and as secretary of Chaffey TABS, I learned many valuable organizational and networking skills.  After becoming an officer of TABS, I entered the honors program and received an "A" with honors credit for Managerial Accounting.  Since coming to Chaffey, I have been on the Dean's List each semester.  I was recently awarded a scholarship from the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.  Being actively involved in our events last year was the best step I have taken in my education.  I was able to attain essential knowledge from leading experts in their respective fields.  As the new president, I am devoting myself to upholding committment Chaffey TABS has to its students to bring advantageous activities and events to campus.  I encourage all students to take hold of their academic future and develop relationships with your professors.

I have been a student here at Chaffey College for about two and a half years. I am pursuing an Associate's Degree in Business Administration, and I plan on transferring to either Cal Poly Pomona or University of La Verne next fall. There, I will strive for a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Accounting. TABS is the first club I've truly engaged myself in, and I am enjoying the experience and the hard work!

I have a one year old son, who motivates me to do my best each and every day. College for me didn't start out on the best foot, but it wasn't until my son came to be that I realized that I needed to take myself and what I do seriously. Since I had my son, I've turned my life around. I made it on the Dean's List the semester after my son was born, and last Spring, I earned the Most Improved Student Scholarship award from the ASCC.

Starting off as a student here at Chaffey College, I was a part of the athletic program where I played two years for the Women's Soccer team. I have a great pride for the Chaffey Panthers and am excited to now be a part of The Tax, Accounting, and Business Society. As I have a wide range of interests, my favorite subject is History. Although, I am a happy Business Administration major with an emphasis in Marketing and a minor in Accounting. This semester I will receive my AA and plan to attend California State University of Fullerton next Fall for my Bachelors Degree. I plan to continue my educational journey and attain my Masters Degree. With my optimism and drive I am hopeful to find a career where I can efficiently and effectively use my creative, business and leadership skills in a field that I am passionate about. There may be a long  road ahead, but after all "... we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem  too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value…'Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death"

-Thomas Paine (The Crisis, 1776).

This is my third and final year at Chaffey College.  I am transferring as a business administrations major with an emphasis in accounting.  I graduated Chaffey spring of 09 with two Associates degrees.  For my final year at Chaffey I am currently finishing my prerequisites for admission into either UC Berkeley or USC along with a third Associates degree in Business.  Currently I am a member of Global Economics and Management Society (GEMS), officer of treasury for Tax, Accounting and Business Society (TABS), and officer of treasury for my second term for Phi Theta Kappa (PTK).  Aside from school I bartend and serve at Olive Garden, along with being very active within surrounding communities by providing a variety of community services.  Through my years of work, school, and community service related volunteer work, I have obtained and expanded upon many of my current attributes (leadership most importantly).  Though I have room to grow, and are forever evolving as an intellectual, I feel by acknowledging this fault I yield the understanding of what the definition of both leadership and growth underline, which only help to shape who I am as a person.
